Sofia: Wine & Cheese Tasting Experience

1.Wine & Cheese Tasting Experience

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 674 reviews · 1 hour · from $21Our pick

One hour in Sofia with five Bulgarian wine tastings, paired with craft cheese, bread sticks, and a guide-led tour of regional styles.

“It was wonderful! There were 10 participants mostly in groups of 2-3 people so it was a very personal but social activity. Kalin hosted a very lovely curated wine tasting, including some general knowledge of Bulgarian wine making throughout the centuries as well as detailed backstories of the wines we tasted. The cheese complimented the wine well and its beautiful to see how much dedication and passion is in this experience and I thank Kalin for sharing it with us. The set-up allowed for comfort and the room to discuss the wines with the other participants, and everyone found something they liked especially. There can be found something for every taste.”

“We came here to do a wine tasting cheese and wine evening. We arrived early and were greeted by Maria, who kindly took us to our well prepared table ready for the wine tasting. From the many wine tasting experiences we have signed up to around the world, this is definitely one of the best - both in terms of the knowledge of the host, as well as the high quality of the produce. We were encouraged to stay at the venue after the wine tasting to try more wines and both Lyubomir and Maria recommended some great wines!l which carried a super personal touch! Would highly recommend this family…”

The prime cuts and cheese were beyond amazing. The spicy sauce was so good I ended up buying his last bottle from him. He was an amazing host and gave me many enjoyable facts about bulgarian cuisine and some reccomendations on places to try. Highly reccomend this tour and I'm sure any other tours that Rado runs is also A+++!!!!”

He was also a very good host and fitted the topics to my interest/wishes. The dinner was done in their family home, and was a nice experience to see a Bulgarian family home aswell. I learned so much, and if I ever come back to Sofia I will do this again, because the host have so many more interesting stories to tell. I highly recommend this. PS. They also do Bulgarian yoghurt tasting, which was a very good experience…”
